I get this question so often: Hey, Mike, do you ever suffer from insecurity? I mean, even though you've been a professional writer for so long and have won awards and everything, don't you ever feel sometimes like you're going to be revealed as a talentless fraud someday?
The answer: Of course! All writers (or all artists, for that matter), I'm convinced suffer from major bouts of insecurity and depression over their work. I also think we alternately believe at any moment that we're the best and the worst writer on the planet.
Strange, huh?
But maybe that's what gives us the juice to make the work the best we can make it.
