In light of Joaquin Phoenix's meltdown/performance art appearance on David Letterman the other night The Daily Beast has put together a collection of seven talk show "train wrecks" the majority of which, for some reason, seem to have taken place on Letterman. Go figure. Here's an old one with Andy Kaufman that we'd never seen before (and he definitely gives Madonna a run for her money in terms of expletives!)

Maybe he did it as a publicity stunt. He sure is getting publicity. They say even bad publicity is good publicity.
