Odyssey Writing Workshop Launches Blog
On February 1, the Odyssey Writing Workshop launched a blog for writers of fantasy, science fiction, and horror at http://odysseyworkshop.livejournal.com/. Weekly posts will provide valuable insights into the writing process and the publishing industry. They will include
*Interviews with award-winning and bestselling authors who have served as Odyssey guest lecturers, discussing their writing processes, their writing weaknesses and how they overcame them, and their experiences in publishing.
*Writing and publishing tips from Odyssey director Jeanne Cavelos.
*Profiles of Odyssey graduates, covering their writing struggles and triumphs, and the most useful advice they've received.
*News of sales and publications by Odyssey graduates, with some accounts of how they made those sales.
*Alerts for new podcasts and articles on the Odyssey Web site.
*Round ups in which multiple authors provide their best answers to a monthly "Writing Question."
The February interview will be with New York Times bestselling author Carrie Vaughn. Carrie is a graduate of Odyssey 1998 and will be serving as writer-in-residence at Odyssey 2009.
Odyssey invites writers and readers of fantasy, science fiction, and horror to "friend" our LiveJournal and leave comments.
Odyssey is one of the most highly respected workshops for writers of fantasy, science fiction, and horror. The intensive program runs for six weeks each summer on the campus of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. Fifty-three percent of graduates go on to be published. More information is available at:
